5 day Northern Experience
	YOUR ITINERARY Day 1 Monday: Arrive Auckland You will be met on arrival in Auckland and transferred to your hotel (flights to arrive prior to 4.00pm). The remainder of  the day is at leisure to explore Auckland. Perhaps visit the Sky Tower for spectacular views of the harbour and surrounding volcanic hills. Tonight enjoy a  welcome drink and dinner with your Tour Director and fellow travelers. Accommodation: Copthorne Habour city, Auckland. (D) Day 2 Tuesday: Waitomo Caves/ Rotorua Today enjoy a sightseeing tour of Auckland then  journey south through the Waikato district to Waitomo. At the Waitomo Caves  experience a guided boat tour of the incredible Glow-worm Grotto. This afternoon  travel to Rotorua. Dinner is a special Hangi feast followed by an entertaining  Maori concert. Accommodation: Lake Plaza, Rotorua, 2 nights. (BD) Day 3 Wednesday: Rotorua Sightseeing This morning visit Whakarewarewa Thermal Reserve and wander amidst pools of boiling mud and geysers of all sizes! At Rainbow Springs  view the rare, flightless bird, the Kiwi. Later see the Rainbow Farm Show, an exciting display of sheep shearing and trained working sheep dogs. Free time this afternoon for an optional scenic flight or to go trout fishing. (B) Farm Stay Option: Spend the night with a local family tonight. Enjoy some true New Zealand hospitality. Available at no extra  cost, please request at time of booking. Day 4 Thursday: Wellington Travel through extensive pine forest to Taupo, in  the very heart of the North Island. We stop and view the mighty Huka Falls. Follow the eastern shoreline of Lake Taupo, with a backdrop of snow-capped volcanoes that form the vast volcanic plateau of Tongariro National Park. On through the rich dairy farming lands of Manawatu to the coast for a picturesque  drive into the capital city Wellington, situated surrounding a beautiful natural harbour. Accommodation: Ibis Wellington. (B) Day 5 Friday: Depart Wellington This morning enjoy a visit to Te Papa, the Museum of New Zealand. This afternoon you will be transferred to Wellington airport  (flights to depart after 2.00pm). (B)
	3 Day Bay of Islands Option Arrive in Auckland on Friday and stay overnight at the Copthorne Harbour city. Then join your independent tour of the Bay of Islands, staying at the Park Lodge on Paihia. Return to Auckland on Monday to  meet your Tour Director and join the 5 Day Northern Discovery Tour.
