RATES

Excess

Windscreen / Glass cover is available ( payable direct ) for
$4 per day on any vehicle to any age driver
* standard excess amounts apply to the rest of the vehicle.
Vehicle
Insurance and Collision Damage Waiver (CDW).
Rental vehicle and third party insurance is included in our rates and is subject
to a deductible (Excess) of
$658 +GST (Based on drivers being 25 years or older). Excess is higher for drivers
24 years and under or for hire of peoplemovers and large 4WD's.
All
About NZ Rental Car rates include comprehensive insurance for the
vehicle. This covers damage to both the rental car and third party
vehicles or property up to a value of
$877,193 . This insurance carries an excess ( deductible ) of
$658 , which means if an accident occurs while the car is on hire you are liable
for
$658 or the cost of repair, whichever is the lesser amount. The excess applies to
damage to the vehicle or damage caused by the vehicle.
An
optional Collision Damage Waiver is available to drivers 25 years
and over for an additional
$9 per day. This reduces the excess to
$0 and covers windscreens and lights (not available on peoplemovers or large 4WDs).
Where
an accident involves two vehicles the
$658 excess may be refunded if we are able to establish that liability rests with
the third party. This is done via our insurance company who take the case to
a disputes hearing. If liability cannot be established with the third party
then the hirer is responsible for the excess. For Drivers of any age we offer
windscreen and glass cover on all vehicles for an additional
$4 per day.
Insurance
Exclusions
The
indemnities referred to above shall not apply where the damage, injury,
or loss arises when:
- The driver
of the vehicle is under the influence of alcohol or any drug
that affects his or her ability to drive the vehicle.
- The vehicle
is in an unsafe or unroadworthy condition that arose during
the course of the hire and that caused or contributed to the
damage or loss, and the Hirer or driver was aware or ought
to have been aware of the unsafe or unroadworthy condition
of the vehicle.
- The vehicle
is operated in any race, speed test, rally or contest.
- The vehicle
is driven by any person not named in the rental agreement.
- The vehicle
is being driven by any person who at the time when he or she
drives the vehicle is disqualified from holding or has never
held a drivers licence appropriate for the vehicle.
- The vehicle
is willfully or recklessly damaged by the hirer or any other
person named in the agreement or driving the vehicle under
the authority of the hirer, or is lost as a result of willful
or reckless behaviour of the hirer or any such person.
- The vehicle
is operated outside the term of the hire or any agreed extension
of that term.
It
is agreed between the owner and the hirer that section 11 of the
insurance law reform act 1977 shall apply to the above exclusions
as if this clause constituted a contract of insurance. The general
effect of this provision is that an exclusion will not apply if
the hirer proves on the balance of probability that the damage
or loss was not caused or contributed to by the matters to which
the exclusion refers.

Licence
New
Zealand law requires that all drivers be 19 years or over with full
licence and produce a valid New Zealand, International or overseas
licence. We accept US, Australian, Canadian, English and European
Licences.

Charges
Our rates include unlimited mileage.
One
Way Hires*
Vehicles may be hired between any two of our depots at no additional charge
(Please note that minimum hire periods may apply to this facility).
Cook
Strait Crossing
When crossing between the North and South Islands you may drop one vehicle
at Picton or Wellington and uplift another vehicle in the other island or you
may choose to retain the same vehicle for the duration of your hire.
Please note: if you do the above with in 24 hours the hire is considered one
continueous rental. If over 24 hours before you collect the next hire, then
the daily rental rate starts again
Minimum
Age
25 years or older (
$658 + GST Excess),except on Class E8, E12 and GS where the amount is (
$0 + GST )
21 - 24 years (
$1,316 + GST excess applies with no option of excess waiver available),
20 years of age and under (
$1,754 + GST excess applies with no option of excess waiver option).

Cancellations
Unless 7 days notice is given, a 30% cancellation fee and any
applicable relocation fees if applicable, is due to "About New
Zealand Rental Group ".
