BRITZ BONUS PACK


The Britz Bonus Pack for car rentals is gross
per day (maximum charge of per rental) and is in addition to the daily gross vehicle rate. The Britz Bonus Pack component is commissionable along with the vehicle component of the rental.

Inclusions are:
• Excess Reduction Option 2*

* Excess Reduction Option 2 - This option reduces the excess from to NIL.

RENTAL DURATION
• Rental days are calculated on a 24 hour basis.
• Minimum rental period is 3day, 3 days for one-way rentals. Minimum rental period is subject to change during peak periods.
• Special rates are available for rentals of more than 30 days. Discounts available on application only.
• When a rental moves from one rate season into the next, the calculation is based on both rates.

Early return of vehicle does not entitle the hirer to any refund of the unused portion of the rental. Britz allows a grace period of 59 minutes before the hirer is liable for late return charges. Failure to obtain authorisation for a rental extension will result in a daily rental fee of in addition to the daily rate.

Late return fees are applicable as follows:
• 1 hour late, one third of the daily rate will apply
• 2 hours late, two thirds of the daily rate will apply
• 3 hours late, one full day rate will apply

ONE-WAY RENTALS
One-way rentals are available between all branch locations. One-way fees are included, minimum hire period of 3 days.

MULTIPLE RENTALS
Should a hirer have more than one rental (multiple rentals), then these rentals can be combined to qualify the hirer for our long term rate. Campervan and car rentals in Australia, New Zealand and Southern Africa, for both Britz and Maui, can be combined to qualify if travel is within a 3 month period.
e.g. One 14 day rental plus one 7 day rental qualifies for the 21 day rate.
The One-way Fee (if applicable) and charges for additional hire equipment and additional extra will be charged per vehicle rented.

BRANCH HOURS FOR PICK-UP AND DROP-OFF:
Auckland, Christchurch, Queenstown.
Auckland and Christchurch: 24 hours, closed Christmas Day.
Queenstown: Daily from 0800 to 1800hrs in the summer months, daily from 0800 to 1700hrs in the winter months, closed Christmas Day.
Pick-ups and drop-offs after branch hours may be available by prior arrangement.

Britz
Car Rentals are now available for pick up and drop off 24-hours per day at the Auckland and Christchurch branches. Please see below for details. After hours pick-ups and drop offs in Auckland are at Centra Hotel, Mangere - Take the Maui and Britz Courtesy Transfer Bus to the Centra. Christchurch after hours service is at Commodore Hotel, 447 Memorial Ave, Christchurch - receive free courtesy transfer bus from the Free Telephone Light box Service in the domestic or international terminal.

AIRPORT CONCESSION FEE
An airport concession fee may be charged for hires with pick-up or drop-off from airport locations. An airport pick up fee of will apply for all hires with pick up at Queenstown airport. This surcharge is payable to Britz directly upon collection of the vehicle.

TRANSFER
Britz provides free airport to Branch and Branch to airport transfer on day of arrival and departure for our Auckland and Christchurch Branches. Queenstown Branch is located at the Airport.

FOR YOUR PROTECTION
New Zealand legislation provides limited coverage for personal injury. We strongly recommend that all people travelling in New Zealand take out Personal Travel Insurance.

All vehicles are insured for the damage to the vehicle or to the property of a Third Party. The hirer is responsible for the first (“the excess”) of the cost of damage to Third Party property or to the rented vehicle, including single vehicle accident, windscreen and tyre damage, overhead and underbody damage, towing and recovery costs, theft, fire, break-in or vandalism. This also includes the cost of the daily rental for the period the vehicle is off fleet for accident repairs (demurrage). The excess applies in respect of each claim, not rental.

The excess is applicable regardless of who is at fault and must be paid at the time the accident report is completed, not at the completion of the rental. The excess will be refunded if we are successful in recovering the cost of the damages from the Third Party. Please note that Third Party Claims can take months to resolve.
Please see the ‘Exclusions’ section below, whereby all Excess Reduction cover will be made void.

This excess can be reduced, in most circumstances, by the purchase of the Excess Reduction Option.

With Excess Reduction Option the hirer is responsible for the first of ANY ACCIDENT COST of damage to Third Party property or to the rented vehicle, including single vehicle accident, overhead and underbody damage, towing and recovery costs, theft, fire, break in or vandalism. This also includes the cost of the daily rental rate for the period the vehicle is off fleet for accident repairs (demurrage). The excess applies in respect of each claim, not rental.

Premium Cover Option (PCO)
Where PCO is taken out at a flat rate of per rental in addition to the Excess Reduction Option, the hirer will not have to pay any excess at all for any damage to the vehicle or property of a third party.

BRITZ STRONGLY RECOMMENDS OUR CUSTOMERS TO TAKE THE EXCESS REDUCTION OPTION AND PCO FOR TRAVEL WITH COMPLETE PEACE OF MIND

EXCLUSIONS:
1. Standard Excess, the Excess Reduction Option and PCO do not cover any water related damage, which includes but is not limited to:
a) any vehicle submersion
b) creek or river crossing
c) driving through low plain flooded areas
d) beach driving
2. Personal belongings are not covered. We recommend the hirer does not leave valuables in the vehicle and that they take out personal insurance.
3. All Excess Reduction is void if the terms of the Rental Agreement are breached. The hirer will be responsible for the total cost of any damage. This will also include any damage caused by wilful misconduct (e.g. sitting or standing on the bonnet or roof of the vehicle) and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
4. Standard Excess, the Excess Reduction Option and PCO do not cover the incorrect use of fuel (fuel being diesel or petrol). The hirer will be responsible for any associated cost.
5. The Hirer will be responsible for the cost to retrieve or recover a vehicle which has become bogged, regardless of the Excess Reduction Package taken.
6. The hirer will be responsible for the cost to replace keys which have become lost, or retrieval of keys which have been locked in a vehicle.

VEHICLE SECURITY DEPOSIT
On pick up of the vehicle, a Vehicle Security Deposit is payable. The amount is determined by the Protection Package selected (refer to the “FOR YOUR PROTECTION” section). If you do not take the Excess Reduction Option, the Security Deposit is payable by cash, Traveller’s Cheques, or credit cards (Diners Cards are not accepted). Should the Deposit be paid by cash, a cash qualification process will apply. If paid by credit card, authorisation will be gained for the security deposit.

If Excess Reduction Option has been taken the Security Deposit is payable by cash, Traveller's Cheques or credit card. Should the Deposit be paid by cash, a cash qualification process will apply. If paid by credit card, authorisation will be gained.

The Security Deposit is fully refundable provided the vehicle is returned on time, to the correct location, undamaged, with a clean interior and with full fuel tanks. We reserve the right to retain a soiling fee if the vehicle is not returned with the interior in a clean condition and 4 wheel drive vehicles free of mud. Except where the customer has purchased PFO, failure to return the vehicle with full petrol or diesel tanks will result in refill charges, which will be advised upon return of the vehicle.

INFRINGEMENTS
We reserve the right to charge the hirer for any speeding or parking fines, associated administration costs and/or accidents including third party property damage not reported on return of the vehicle. The administration fee per fine will be .

EXCHANGE RATE / CURRENCY VARIATIONS
All credit card transactions are conducted in New Zealand dollars. Due to exchange rate fluctuations there could be some variance in the amount refunded compared to the amount initially charged. Britz does not accept any liability for variances up or down.

CREDIT CARDS
If a credit card is presented as payment, the credit card holder will be jointly and severally liable as a customer. Preferred credit cards are Visa Card and Mastercard.

CANCELLATION FEES

Up to 31 days prior to pickup 20%
31 - 15 days prior to pickup 25% of rental costs. (Minimum )
14 - 7 days prior to pickup 50% of rental costs. (Minimum )
6 - 0 days prior to pickup / or No Show 100% of rental costs.
Amendment fee for each amendment / after docsuments are issued

LICENCE
A full resident country driver’s licence, held for a least one year, is to be presented at the time of rental. If the licence is not in English format, an international drivers licence is also required.

AGE RESTRICTIONS
Drivers must be 21 years of age or over. A medical certificate stating that the customer is fit to drive the vehicle they have booked for the duration of the hire is required for drivers over the age of 75.

Should a hirer have more than one rental (multiple rentals) then these rentals can be combined to qualify the hirer for our long term rate. Campervan and car rentals in Australia, New Zealand and Southern Africa, for both Britz and Maui, can be combined to qualify if travel is within a 3 month period.
e.g. One 14 day rental plus one 7 day rental qualifies for the 21 day rate.

For pick ups and drop offs on the same day, the daily rental charge for the last day of the 1st rental will be charged, and the daily charge for first day of the subsequent rental will not be charged. This will also apply to the Excess Reduction charge.

The One Way Fee (if applicable) and charges for additional hire equipment (tables, chairs, baby seats) and additional extras (PCO etc) will be charged per vehicle rented.

CHANGE OF DROP OFF DESTINATION
If the hirer wishes to change the drop off destination after the rental has commenced, they must first obtain authorisation from the Reservations Centre in Auckland. Subject to the change being approved, an additional charge of up to will apply.

RENTAL EXTENSION
If the hirer wishes to extend the rental whilst on hire, they must first obtain authorisation from the Reservations Centre in Auckland. This is subject to availability. The extra cost of an extended rental must be paid by credit card over the telephone on confirmation of the rental extension.
Failure to obtain authorisation will result in a daily fee of in addition to the daily rate.

ROAD RESTRICTIONS
Rental cars can only be driven on sealed/bitumen or well-maintained roads. No vehicle shall be driven on Skippers Road (Queenstown), Ninety Mile Beach (Northland), Ball Hut Road (Mt. Cook), North of Colville Township (Coromandel Peninsula), and Tapu-Coroglen Road (Coromandel Peninsula).

Britz reserves the right at its sole discretion to restrict vehicle movements in certain areas due to adverse road or weather conditions.

ON-ROAD ASSISTANCE
Any problems associated with the vehicle, including equipment failure, must be reported to Britz as soon as possible, and within 24 hours in order to give Britz the opportunity to rectify the problem during the rental. Failure to do so will compromise any claims for compensation. We do not accept liability for any claims submitted after this period.

CHANGE OF VEHICLE
Should the vehicle booked be unavailable through unforeseen circumstances, Britz reserve the right to substitute an alternative vehicle without prior notification and at no extra cost. This shall not constitute a breach of contract and does not entitle the hirer to a refund.

VEHICLE CATEGORY
Vehicles cannot be requested by make, model, or colour, only by vehicle category.

VOLUNTARY DOWNGRADE
Should the hirer decide to take a lesser vehicle than booked they will not be entitled to any refunds.

IMPORTANT
Britz reserves the right to refuse any rental at its discretion.

ANIMALS
No animals are permitted in our vehicles, excluding guide dogs.

PERSONAL AND COMPANY CHEQUES
Personal and Company cheques will not be accepted as payment for rentals at the time of pick-up. These must be received by Britz 14 days prior to commencement of rentals. Personal or Company cheques are not acceptable as the refundable security deposit.

Britz or modifications and/or upgrades to the vehicle design made by the manufacturer.
