HOTELS
International chains such as Hyatt, Sheraton and Intercontinental operate in New Zealand. There are also good locally owned international class and boutique style hotels (Most are located in the major cities and tourist destinations).
For instance - Caboose - Taupo - If you are looking for somewhere truly different to stay try the Caboose! Situated on the lakefront at Taupo the Caboose takes passengers on a journey into the rich elegant era of rail travel through Colonial Africa. A choice of cosy train compartments or more spacious 1st class sleepers - all with unique African décor.

LODGES
These luxury hideaways are set in some of New Zealand's most beautiful and tranquil locations. Every lodge has its own unique atmosphere and character. Some are sports lodges par excellence, situated in the best trout or hunting areas available in the world where you may experience the best food, hospitality and surroundings the country has to offer. For instance - Tauhara Sunrise Lodge - Acacia Bay - North Western shores of Lake Taupo, North Island, New Zealand. Your stay includes breakfast, internet service, use of the hot tub and games room, a complimentary evening drink and access to all facilities.

For some, Tauhara Sunrise is a bed and breakfast with the utmost in privacy. For others it's a homestay; a chance to mingle with the host family (Rob, a Kiwi, Becky, a Texan, and teenager Ross, a Texan/Kiwi) and chat around the open fire, in the hot tub, or on the expansive patio.For others, it's a lodge; an all-inclusive vacation with meals, drinks, fishing, hunting, adventure and leisure activities all meticulously pre-arranged so that all you need do is relax and enjoy and for others, it's a business retreat: a place to get away from the noise of the office and free the creative juices to explore business strategy.

FARMS
If you want to get a real inside look at farming practices in New Zealand, and would like to meet some locals you have to stay at a rural farm. There is no difference between a farm or a station, but generally it is accepted that any property that has a capacity to carry between 2000 and 3000 sheep can be considered a station. Today's modern farms have mixed livestock with the majority in sheep, cattle, deer, and dairy.

The accommodation rates are normally very reasonable and include a wholesome breakfast, but not dinner which is optional.

Te Moenga is set on a working deer, sheep and cattle farm of 24 hectares, with the most spectacular views over Lake Taupo. TRANSPORT / DAY TOURS

Aroha New Zealand have a number of options to choose from as listed below:

All Areas:

  • Half day tour NZD $200 including GST, (4hrs) for up to two people.
  • Half day tour NZD $300 including GST, (4hrs) for up to four people.
  • Day tour NZD $400 including GST, (8hrs) for up to two people.
  • Day tour NZD $500 including GST, (8hrs) for up to four people.
  • Every additional hour is NZD $50.

Prices includes:

  • Personal guide (English and German spoken).
  • Transport cost (petrol and unlimited kilometre, motor vehicle insurance).
  • Pick up and drop off from accommodation.
  • Snacks and refreshments.

Fees for other activities are not included.

CONDITIONS

PAYMENTS
Before the start of your journey, you have to pay the total costs of all advanced and arranged bookings through Aroha New Zealand Tours Limited.

CURRENCY
All prices are quoted in New Zealand dollars (NZD's) and includes New Zealand's goods and service tax (GST) of 12.5%.

DEPOSIT
A deposit of NZD $500 per person is payable at the time of your booking.

EXTENSIONS
All tours may be extended provided arrangements are made prior to ticketing.

CHANGING RESERVATIONS
After your itinerary is confirmed, you will be permitted one set of amendments free of charge. Any further alterations, which are instigated by you will incur a charge of NZD $100 due to considerable communication, labour and sundry expenses that may be incurred.

CANCELLATION
Should it be necessary to cancel arrangements, each case will be individually considered and an equitable refund will be made after calculating the costs incurred by operators and their agents. The minimum cancellation fee is NZD $500.

DISTRIBUTIONS
Some packages travel through areas which can be severely affected by weather conditions, causing disruptions to itineraries and schedules. Assistance will be provided to make alternative arrangements when/where practicable, but no liability is accepted for either disruptions OR if any operator temporarily withdraws a service for whatever reason.

INSURANCE
You should take adequate insurance cover prior your arrival to cover personal accident, baggage, loss of airfares, medical expenses, etc. Our accident compensation scheme does not cover medical costs.

ACCIDENT COMPENSATION
New Zealand operates a unique, no fault and accident compensation scheme called ACC. If you have the misfortune to be injured in an accident while you are in New Zealand, then you will receive medical and hospital treatment in New Zealand at very little cost to yourself. However the, rates of compensation are very low by international standards so we suggest that you take out your own personal accident insurance. It is not possible to obtain compensation through litigation. Accident Compensation does not cover medical costs, unless they are as a result of a motor vehicle accident. ACC laws are subject to change without notice.

OUR PLANNING COSTS
Included in your tours are our normal operating costs such as charges and fees for research, itinerary preparation, arrangement costing, currency transfers etc. As arrangements for each entire tour as specified in the itineries represent a complete package of arrangements, an itemization of costs will not be rendered. Payment of a deposit will indicate an acceptance of these conditions by the purchaser and/or passenger.

RISKS
Adventure activities have an element of risk, and all clients need to realize there is no absolute guarantee of safety. Aroha New Zealand Tours Limited reserves the right not to run any activity(s), if in our opinion, the circumstances make the activity too dangerous (Example: Flooded rivers etc...).

LAW
The law of New Zealand will be applied to contracts and disputes; and shall be resolved within the Court's of New Zealand.

LIABILITY
Clients will be required to sign a liability release form before commencing any tour activity.

RESPONSIBILITY
All prices are subject to change without notice in the event of alterations or fluctuations in fares, hotel tariffs or other items forming part of the inclusive cost of a tour, up to and including the day of arrival.

Seasonal variations in airlines, transport and accommodation services may necessitate minor variations to itineraries and hotels. These will be made to the passenger’s best advantage with appropriate adjustments to costs. Aroha New Zealand Tours Limited do not accept any liability for failure on the part of transportation companies, hotel contractors or other principals, or for any act, omission or event during the time the passenger(s) are not on board aircraft or conveyances by these principals.

Further, the responsibilities of air carriers and other principals participating in the tour are limited as specified in their tickets, conditions of contract, conditions of carriage and tariffs. Aroha New Zealand Tours Limited and the principals concerned accept no responsibility for losses or additional expenses due to delays, or changes in aircrafts, steamer or other transport services, sickness, weather, strikes, war, quarantine or other courses. Any such losses or expense must be borne by the passenger or hirer.
